  • Select Next
  • Select Choose Local

  • You will see a bunch of numbers appear and then click Save ESC Codes to Printer.
  • Click Exit

Your receipt printer is now enabled and programmed correctly.

Remote Printer Setup

Your remote printer should be connected to one of your terminals either physically or through a Cat5 cable using supplied adapters.

Remotes printers need to be added into the terminal that runs it first and then in all terminals in the network.

  • Go to Start on the main Windows menu bar.
  • Select Settings
  • Select Printers
  • Select Add Pritner
  • Select Next
  • Select Choose Local
  • Select Next
  • Select the communications port that the printer is connected to. This could be COM 1, COM 2 or other serial port.
  • Change the name of the printer to the appropriate name. Select a name that has meaning for your operation. Some suggestions are:
    • Kitchen
    • Bar
    • Fry Printer
    • Grill Printer
    • Sandwich Printer
    • Salad
    • Pizza
  • Select Default
  • Select Generic as the Manufactuer.
  • Select Generic Text as the printer type.
  • Select Next to keep exiting driver.
  • Select Yes to share the printer.
  • Select Yes to print a test page.
  • Select Finish
  • If you do not get a test page you should check the power cord and other connectins.

You remote printer is now installed but you must change a setting.

While still in the Windows Printer Settings do the following:

  • Right click on the Receipt printer
  • Select Properties
  • Select Advanced
  • Change driver to Epson TM210
  • Select "OK"

You will need to install all remotes in your network on the physical attached terminals first and then go back and install network printers on all others.

Now go to window printer setup on each terminal and add printer (once you hit add printer XP often finds it automatically in which case you actually don't have to install).

You will next setup your remotes in DT. In this example the kitchen printer is running off Term1/Com1.

  • Log into the DirecTouch program. Use 9137 as a default user.
  • Go to Manager Menu
  • Select Register Setup
  • Select Printer Setup
  • On Term1 under the Available Printer drop down you would choose Com1
  • To the right should appear the name Kitchen. In the left box for printer name type Kitchen and then click Save.

When you go to the other terminals in your network and go to Available printers you will see items that are named NE00 or NE01, these are network printers.

If you choose one the name of the printer will appear in Device name.

You will repeat above steps and type in Kitchen in printer name and save.

You will repeat this for each remote in your network.

  • Next go to Printer Escape Codes, which is below Printer Setup.
  • In the top drop down choose Kitchen.
  • You will see a bunch of numbers appear and then click Save ESC Codes to Printer
  • Select Exit

You will do this for each remote in your network.

You printers are now set.

If you have followed each step of this process your system should be operational and ready to start building your menu.

Select from the following if you would like to repeat any portion of these steps.
