DirecTouch Set Up Guide

Step 1 of 6: Hardware Setup for Windows XP Pro

DO NOT INSERT THE USB KEY UNTIL DIRECTED

Hardware setup

Touch Screen Monitor Set-up:

  • You will receive 2 cables with the monitor
  • 1 Cable w/ 3 connectors-video(blue) magnetic card reader (purple) touch (black)
  • 1 Power Cord

On the back of the monitor there are 3 ports. Blue for the Blue video cable. Black for the black Touch cable.

Computer Set-up:

  • You will receive a power cord for the PC. You will plug this into the PC.
  • You will also plug the blue video cable into the blue video port on the PC.
  • There are 4 Com ports on the back of the PC. You will plug the black Touch Cable into the Com port that is labeled Com 1.
  • You also will see two PS2 ports that are for the keyboard and mouse. The top green port is for the mouse and the bottom purple port is for the keyboard.
  • Depending on whether or not this is the main server and running a back office printer you may also have to plug the printer cable into the pink port on the back of the PC.
  • Once you have all peripherals attached, you can start the computer. There is an ON/OFF switch on the front of the PC. You will see lights come on when the computer starts to boot into Windows.

Found new hardware message:

You will get this message for your receipt printer. Choose the following:

  • Yes this time only>Next
  • Install software(recommended)> Next
  • Verify that "Don't prompt again is checked and hit>Next

Activate windows:

Down in bottom right hand corner by the clock double click on the 2 key icon. This will begin the activation process. Do the following:

  • Yes-Activate Windows> Next
  • No I don't want to register> Next
  • It will then check for Internet connection
  • You will be prompted to enter your license key number, which is located on a sticker on the door on the front of your computer.
  • You will receive a success response if you have an Internet connection.
  • You can activate by phone simply follow the prompts.

Once you have completed all these steps you should have working terminals.
